cristina garcía is an economist with a focus on environmental economics and development policies who graduated from the university of heidelberg in germany. she worked as a research assistant in the department of natural resources at the european economic research center (zew). she mainly worked on the project ”co2 panel (kfw/zew)", a survey among experts on the carbon market. cristina has gained experience in the public and private sectors. most recently she worked at the german agency for international cooperation (giz) as part of the gesoren program, where she was mainly in charge of the coordination of communication and preparation of trainers on climate change and the redd+ program. she worked with amazonian indigenous nationalities, in conjunction with the ministry of environment and onu-redd. at giz cristina was also responsible for coordinating, editing and designing official publications about redd+ in ecuador.
