jaime fernandez baca is an agronomist (davis university of california), with a master's degree in agricultural economics (national agrarian university of peru) and environmental management (university of stirling, scotland, united kingdom). over the past 15 years he has worked in various sectors related to the management of the environment and natural resources in peru and other countries of latin america and the caribbean. his experience includes: environmental consulting for the mining, oil and industry private sectors; design and management of conservation and development projects in the amazon basin, development of financial sustainability strategies for protected area systems in various countries of latin america and design of the gef projects in the areas of biodiversity conservation and combat against desertification. at present, he is an advisor to the inter-american development bank (idb) and the peruvian government in the implementation of the forest investment program (fip) in peru. he is also a founding member of efco advisory and sac consulting company.
