Stephanie has a master’s degree in environmental management, global change and socio- ecological sustainability awarded by the international university of andalusia and has graduated as a biologist from the pontifical catholic university of ecuador. by implementing different techniques and planning tools she has expertise in comprehensive management for the conservation of biodiversity, in particular for the national system of protected areas of ecuador (SNAP). furthermore stephanie has solid knowledge on climate change mitigation at an ecosystem-level and its synergies with adaptation. During her work on the design of the “redd+ mechanism” in ecuador she gathered important knowledge managing greenhouse gas inventories (GHG), change in land use, reduction of deforestation and degradation of forest ecosystems, in particular the system measurable, reportable and verifiable (mrv). stephanie has done research on the social value (perceptions) of natural capital and environmental services, was the focal point for the cbd in protected areas and site manager for the UNESCO natural heritage. her work has involved coordination of multiple stakeholders, national and international institutions. Currently she is an associate consultant for mentefactura.
